Chocolate and Philosophy - who knew?

We had a very interesting night tonight. Started off with 8 people, lots of melted chocolate and delicious fruit. Add fondue sticks and 10 minutes later all trace of chocolate was eradicated. However, then more people came so it had to be done all over again....not that we complained.

After chocolate, our tummys bursting with sugary goodness, we settled into our couches - a vast wasteland of cushions many a person has been lost to - and began to dissect our society. Scientific method, philosophy, morality, religion - we've gone to school for many years to earn the right to talk about these issues. Some were informed, some were not...but that doesn't matter sometimes. Question of the night: is morality defined by religion, culture, environment or human nature? And does universal morality exist? Do we have a right or obligation to interfer in other countries where their view of normality differs from ours?

Another random fact: boys like to blow things up. Girls do not find this attractive.

You could easliy argue that everything is cultural, from morals, to the way we tie our shoes, to the way we see time. EVERYTHING is a matter of perspective.

Perspective is the key in most things relating to human interaction. You're a genius. It took me four years and a big chunk of money to figure THAT one out.
